Polished aluminum coils are among the most demanding categories in aluminum deep processing in terms of surface quality requirements. Unlike ordinary rolled surfaces or coated finishes, the core value of polished aluminum coils lies in their ultimate surface smoothness, mirror-like reflectivity, and zero-defect visual appearance. Their quality highly depends on substrate selection, multi-stage polishing process control, and end-to-end dust-free protection. Many products in the industry appear shiny but actually contain hidden defects such as minor scratches, orange peel texture, and uneven brightness, which are easily exposed in high-end applications. As a professional polished aluminium coil supplier, BCM Aluminum utilizes a precise process system and tiered quality control standards to cover a full range of products from ordinary glossy to ultra-precise mirror finishes, providing consistently high-quality aluminum materials for the global decoration, electronics, lighting, and reflective equipment industries.

Grading the polishing process is fundamental to product selection. BCM classifies our mirror polished aluminum coil products into three grades based on surface roughness and reflectivity to suit different precision requirements.
Ordinary gloss polishing, with a surface roughness Ra≤0.4μm, presents a uniform and soft metallic luster, suitable for general architectural decoration, appliance casings, and other scenarios where reflectivity requirements are not high.
High-gloss polishing, with Ra controlled in the 0.1–0.2μm range, achieves a mirror reflectivity of over 85%, with a smooth surface free of obvious scratches, making it the mainstream choice for lighting reflectors and signage panels.
Ultra-precision mirror polishing, with Ra≤0.05μm, achieves a reflectivity exceeding 95%, providing clear and distortion-free imaging, reaching optical-grade surface standards, suitable for high-end reflective devices, precision electronic panels, and luxury packaging, among other demanding scenarios.
Each level corresponds to an independent polishing pass and abrasive ratio, avoiding the industry-wide problem of using inferior materials.
The choice of substrate directly determines the upper limit of the polished aluminum coil product. BCM polished aluminum coils preferentially use high-purity pure aluminum series such as 1060, 1050, and 1100, and 3003 rust-resistant aluminum series as base materials. The pure aluminum series has an aluminum content ≥99.6%, uniform metallographic structure, and very few impurities, preventing defects such as pinholes and black spots after polishing. The 3003 series enhances rust resistance while maintaining polishing effect, making it suitable for outdoor humid environments. Standard product thicknesses range from 0.3mm to 2.0mm, and widths can be customized from 100mm to 1500mm. Thickness tolerance is consistently within ±0.02mm, and sheet flatness is ≤1.5mm/m, eliminating the impact of waviness and warping on polishing uniformity from the base material level.
BCM uses a continuous mechanical polishing production line combined with a chemical fine polishing process, progressively reducing the abrasive grit size to ensure a gradually refined surface without deep scratches. The entire production process is completed in a cleanroom. Each roll of finished product is immediately covered with a double-layer PE protective film after production: an outer layer of wear-resistant transport film and an inner layer of low-adhesion mirror-finish film, completely isolating it from dust and friction damage from the factory to the customer. Each batch of products undergoes three quality control checkpoints: surface roughness testing, reflectivity testing, and visual scratch inspection, accompanied by a complete test report to ensure traceable and verifiable surface quality.
The application boundaries of polished aluminum coils extend with surface grade.
In the architectural decoration field, they are used for curtain wall interiors, column cladding, and elevator cars to create a modern metallic texture;
In the lighting industry, they are used as reflectors and substrates for LED lamps to improve light efficiency;
In the electronics and home appliance fields, they are used for panels and decorative strips to enhance the high-end visual appeal of products;
In addition, they are widely used in solar reflectors, signage, cosmetic packaging, and other diverse scenarios.
BCM supports recommending the corresponding polishing grade based on the customer's end-use application and can provide deep processing services such as slitting, leveling, and lamination, delivering ready-to-use finished products.
Truly high-quality polished aluminum coils are bright on the surface and refined in their craftsmanship. BCM Aluminum provides global customers with professionally polished aluminum materials that offer stable surface quality and strong batch consistency through graded process standards, rigorous substrate selection, and a comprehensive protection system, ensuring precise and controllable reflection in every area.
