-Aluminum Cladding For Chilled Water Pipes-

The aluminum cladding for chilled water pipes is a common industrial insulation material. Its core function is to reduce the heat loss of pipes by wrapping aluminum coils, while taking into account anti-corrosion, lightweight and convenient construction.

Material characteristics of aluminum cladding for chilled water pipes:

1. Alloy:

- 1060 pure aluminum coil: aluminum content ≥ 99.6%, good ductility, low cost, suitable for insulation needs in conventional environments.

- 3003 rust-proof aluminum coil: adding manganese elements (1.0%-1.5%), the corrosion resistance is significantly improved, suitable for humid or corrosive environments (such as chemical plants, coastal areas).

- 5005/5052 alloy aluminum coil: high magnesium content (2.2%-2.8%), better strength and corrosion resistance, but higher cost, suitable for high load or extreme environments.

2. Thickness and specifications:

The common thickness is 0.3-1.0mm, the width is mostly 1000mm or 1200mm, and the length can be customized according to needs. The thickness selection needs to balance the insulation effect and cost, 0.5mm thickness can meet most scenarios, and ≥0.8mm is recommended for high corrosion environments.

3. Surface treatment:

- Laminated: By laminating aluminum cladding coils with poly-kraft paper and polysurlyng film, the insulation effect can be effectively improved, heat loss can be reduced, mechanical strength can be enhanced, and materials can be protected.

- Embossing treatment (such as orange peel/corrugated) can enhance friction, facilitate construction and reduce thermal bridge effects.

Application advantages of aluminum cladding for chilled water pipes:

- Insulation and heat insulation:

Aluminum coils are used as outer sheaths, and are used in conjunction with internal insulation materials such as rock wool and glass wool to effectively reduce heat loss and improve system energy efficiency.

- Anti-corrosion:

Aluminum itself has oxidation resistance, and 3003 or 5052 alloy aluminum coils can further resist chemical corrosion and extend the service life of pipelines.

- Lightweight and construction convenience:

Aluminum cladding coils have low density (about 2.71g/cm³), which is easy to carry and install, and can be rolled into small rolls (such as 50 meters/roll) to meet on-site needs.

Supports on-site cutting, bending and edge pressing without complex tools.

Typical application scenarios of aluminum cladding for chilled water pipes:

- Chemical industry:

For the insulation and corrosion protection of cooling water pipes and steam pipes, use 3003 or 5052 alloy aluminum coils.

- Power industry:

For the insulation of turbine cooling water pipes, use aluminum silicate fiber blankets.

- Building HVAC:

For the insulation of air conditioning chilled water pipes, use 1060 pure aluminum coils.
